Summer has been a fun guest to have at the center of our last few months. We’ve played and knocked off almost all of our summer fun items from our list. But like a loved, out-of-town friend that needs to head on back, I see signs of Summer collecting items strewn about and the beginnings of packing up for my warm and carefree buddy. The to-do list on my planner is increasing, new school supplies are stacked on my neglected front table, and I find ourselves soaking in the final weeks of our break.
Paisley begins first grade at the end of the month and will be attending a part time school this year (two days a week). We enjoyed our homeschooled year for Kindergarten, but I know this shift will bring about an array of fresh experiences and sweet memories for my sweet girl.
We took some portraits to document this new academic year; she was really excited to pick out her own outfit (and incorporate some of her own poses!). I know all us parents think it to ourselves with each milestone, but man – she looks so much older all of a sudden. I’m excited to find our new rhythm and embrace first grade adventures!
PS – All the items in this beautiful setup are from Vintage Sparkle Rentals (they were fantastic and I anticipate that they will be involved in some of my mini sessions later this fall). If you have a unique session concept in mind or would like to try something like this outside of my regular scheduled mini sessions, please don’t hesitate to contact me (or you can go in with a few friends and create your own mini session day – the more, the merrier!).
